Thomas Morey Puligny-Montrachet 1er “Truffière” 2016

Morey’s whites are exquisite. They don’t quite flaunt the opulent richness many people expect from Chassagne-Montrachet — his metered use of oak and careful vinification mean they almost seem Puligny-like in style. But the fruit is classic Chassagne — smooth, welcoming, and nearly impossible to put down.

Embrazées is like a bigger version of the village Chassagne, already offering pleasant drinking and likely to get even better over the next couple of years.  It’s the most classically Chassagne of Thomas’s cuvées, and a stunner for any fan of the village.
