Ladoix is one of the corners of Burgundy where climate change has brought some benefits along with the challenges. Grapes once on the margins of ripeness are now easier to ripen, and fifth generation winemaker Vincent Ravaut and his sons have taken this opportunity and run with it. They’re certified EU organic, have dialed back oak, have stopped filtering, and have abandoned “pigeage” (punching down) to extract their reds. The resulting wines are sleek and tasty.
